Chair

The Tiny-House Chair is an easy-to-assemble, sustainable multifunctional chair created for the Tiny House. It features a foldable table top to create a work surface. The individual parts can be separated at any time and thus packed compactly.

Design phase

A design concept was developed. The final design resulted from findings about function and stability.

Model construction

The chair gets the necessary stability from a wooden substructure made of 18mm plywood panels. The back of the chair was built into the seat with a 10 degree slope.

Product

The finished chair has been provided with three different felts in blue, gray and orange to meet different user needs. It can be used both as a conventional chair and as a smart work surface.

Mechanism

Challenges

- The production of the chair with the available means

(lack of tools)

- The connection of the individual components so that

the chair is easy to disassemble (solution: Allen screws

with threads)
